Vera Jacquelyn Brunette, affectionately known as Jackie, passed away on August 16, 2025, in Wilmington, North Carolina at the age of 89. Born on June 9, 1936, in Bertram, Texas, Jackie led a remarkable life marked by her dedication to others and her myriad accomplishments.

Jackie pursued her passion for healthcare and earned a degree in Nursing, ultimately serving as a Registered Nurse in Texas. Over the years, she touched countless lives with her compassionate care and unwavering commitment to the well-being of her patients.

Beyond her professional life, Jackie had a rich tapestry of interests and talents. She was raised on a farm, where she developed a strong work ethic and a deep appreciation for nature. Her adventurous spirit led her to earn a pilot's license, and she found joy in riding motorcycles. A lover of music and community, Jackie took the initiative to start a hand bell choir at her church, bringing people together through song.  Furthermore, Jackie’s entrepreneurial spirit shone through in her venture as an ostrich farmer, showcasing her unique character and zest for life.

Jackie leaves behind a loving family who will cherish her memory forever. She is survived by three daughters: Amber Rene Nanni and her husband William of Elizabethtown, NC; Monica Shaw and her husband Don of Clyde, NC; and Ramona Copeland of Wilmington, NC.
