Theresa Ruth Lewis (Atkison) Hopkins

Theresa Ruth Atkison Lewis Hopkins, 81, passed away at her home, surrounded by her family on December 1, 2021 .

Her funeral service is planned for 2:00 p.m., Saturday, December 4, 2021 at Jenkins Funeral Home with interment to follow at Bluffton Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m., Friday, December 3, 2021 at the funeral home.

Theresa was born on March 14, 1940 to Leslie “Lex” and Ruby Atkison in Burnet, Texas.  She lovingly serviced with Community Care for more than 23 years. Theresa worked and loved the residents of Community Care, often times bringing them into her home for holidays and making them a part of her family. Theresa loved her family, sewing, crocheting, traveling, and most of all her grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Leslie “Lex” and Ruby Atkison; husband, Odell Hopkins; Daughter-in-law, Vonda Lewis, Granddaughter, Katy Lewis, great granddaughter, Cherikey Shyanne Timmons; brothers and sisters, Bobbie Bruce, Barbara “BJ” Smith, Allen Atkison, Toby Atkison, Debbie Atkison Uhler, Kay Atkison Haggerton.

Theresa is survived by her children, Joe Lewis and girlfriend Tammy Jo; Peggy Henderson and husband Bill, Lil Floyd and husband Charlie, and Paula Layton; step-children, Allen Hopkins and wife Gaylen, Ricky Hopkins and wife Sandra, Connie Lott and husband Ronnie, Lisa Bell and husband Donny, Cricket Lyons and husband Tim, Lily Gattani and husband Eric.

She is also survived by many grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great great grandchildren; brothers and sisters, Eva Atkison Garcia and husband Edward, Charles Atkison and wife Gaynell, Donna Atkison Rouse and husband Rodney, Phyllis Atkison, Pamela Atkison Gray; nieces and nephews.

The family has invited everyone in attendance to the Burnet VFW following the service.
