Terry Smith Obituary

Terry Don Smith was born on October 12, 1959 in Monahans, Texas to Albert R. Smith, Jr. and Alva E. Smith. He grew up in Llano and Burnet County and resided in Burnet, Texas until he went to be with the Lord on October 16, 2021.

Terry was preceded in death by his father Albert R. Smith, Jr. (Pete) and is survived by his mother Alva E. Smith, siblings Barry Smith and wife Sonya, Tasha Criswell and husband Kelly, Jeff Smith, Krispen Reyes and husband Jeryme, his children Chrisie Smith and husband Mike Tippie, Justin Smith and wife Christina, and Eric Smith, six grandchildren, one great grandchild and multiple nieces, nephews and cousins.

Terry excelled at many professions, he especially enjoyed being a nurseryman. He loved nurturing plants and watching them grow. He definitely had a green thumb. You never had to wonder where he stood on any issue. He was never afraid to speak his mind or stand up for what he believed. He did everything his way.  Terry was a devoted NRA member and a firm believer in our second amendment.

Terry was passionate about his family (especially his children), friends, music, movies- especially Westerns, guns, flying and traveling.  Music is one of the things he loved most. There would not be a time you were around him that he didn’t have a guitar in his hand, or music playing. Every song that played seemed to be his favorite.  He enjoyed everything from Bob Dylan to Willie, Waylen and the Boys. He was a good ole country boy who lived a simple life. Two of his favorite sayings were “Keep it Simple Stupid” and “Don’t do anything that I wouldn’t do.”

His favorite destinations were Cloudcroft, New Mexico and Old Mexico. He loved the mountains and the beach. He loved being outdoors, going to the shooting range, paint ball, and hunting. Terry was knowledgeable in many areas of life, especially history. In essence, Terry lived a full life.

Most of all Terry's family was his life. They were always at the forefront of his mind. He sacrificed his time and talent to make sure they were always cared for. He will be forever in the hearts of those who knew him and will be deeply missed by his family and friends.
