Rex Bryan Lane, age 83, of Liberty Hill, TX, passed away on December 14, 2022, at his home.
A memorial service is planned for 3:00 p.m., Monday, December 19, 2022, at Jenkins Funeral Home, with Neal Landry officiating.
Rex was born at home in Liberty Hil, TX to James and Cora Lane on December 5, 1939. He went to school in Leander and married his high school sweetheart, Nancy Adare on February 3, 1958. at Leander First Baptist Church. He joined the Marine Corp in 1961 and served our country proudly.
He worked as a meat market manager for major grocery store chains, eventually retiring from HEB as a part of the financial management team. Rex was a hard worked and held others to the same standard.
He served faithfully in the Baptist church for many years. His service included Deacon, Treasurer, Pianist/Organist, Worship Leader, and Sunday School Teacher. Music was a passion for Rex as he blessed many with his beautiful voice. He organized and led the Fifth Sunday Singing organization and participated in various gospel quartets.
In his free time, he enjoyed watching the Texas Rangers, Longhorn sporting events, gardening, and construction projects. Rex loved his pets, especially his dog Ace and 2 cats.
He is preceded in death by his parents, siblings, and son Rex Lane, Jr.
Rex is survived by his wife Nancy; daughter, Sharon and husband Neal; daughter, Sheryl and husband Arthur; grandchildren are, Ben and wife Elizabeth, Tyler, Haley and husband Mitchell, Dylan, Brooke and husband Kody, Carson and fiancé Hailey; great grandchildren are, Cora, McCoy, Calvin, and Landry.
