Norma Halbert Hargis, 98, of Burnet, was taken to her eternal home with her Lord, Jesus, Sunday, November 7, 2021.
Funeral services are planned for 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, November 10, 2021 at First Baptist Church of Burnet with Pastor Doug Lindley. Burial to follow at Lakeland Hills Memorial Park, Burnet, Texas under the direction of Jenkins Funeral Home.
Mrs. Hargis' family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m., Tuesday evening, November 9, 2021 at the funeral home.
Serving as pallbearers are Bobby Gibson, Joe Gibson, Doctor Kent L. Mitchell, Steven Dunagan, Eddie Whitehead, and Clayton Smith.
Norma loved well and was well loved. She ministered in many churches, to many people, to many missions, taught Sunday schools and sang in the choirs. She was devoted to Jesus and His Holy Word.
Norma was preceded in death by her husband, Loron C. Halbert and Col. Troy Hargis; parents, Reverend Leslie and Pernia Conditt Johnson; sisters, Dorothy Brewer, Vera Wurtz, and Betty Moore; brother-in-law, Doctor John T. Halbert, and step daughter, Linda Mervin.
Survivors include, daughters, Barbara Gattis and husband Edward Gattis of Burnet, Texas and Joce Dunagan and husband Earl K. Dunagan of Burnet, Texas; stepdaughter, Jodie Hembree and husband Roger of Las Vegas Nevada; grandchildren, Bobby Gibson of Katy, Texas, Joe Gibson of Austin, Texas, Lara Wueste and husband Ryan of Burnet, Texas, Doctor Kent L. Mitchell and wife Grace of Ft. Worth, Texas, Steven Dunagan and wife Ashley of Burnet, Texas, David Dunagan and wife Donna of Pflugerville, Texas, Lesli Gattis of Marble Falls, Texas, Jennifer Hembree of Las Vegas, Nevada, Tobie Roberts of North Carolina, J.T. Mervin of Martinsville, Texas; sister in law, Wilma Halbert of Beaumont, Texas; seventeen great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
