Melvin Ed Wright (MOO MOO) born May 8th 1935 in San Saba, Tx died on December 12 2020 in Marble Fall, Tx at the age of 85 born to Lon Albert and Katie Ray (Whitley) Wright.
Melvin worked for Texas Granite from 1955 to 1964 when he decided to go into business for himself and opened The Country Store in Marble Fall, tx from 1964 to 1973. He then went to work for Pure Stone (Huber) from 1973 until he retired in 1993. He served on the city council for Marble Fall, Tx and served as a deacon for the Church of Christ for 30 years. He was a lifetime rancher whether on his family ranch or helping others.
He graduated from Marble Falls High school in 1955, where he participated in FFA along with being the manager of the Marble Falls Mustangs.
Married Shirley Gay Morrison on September 8th 1962. They had three children, Trisha Ann Bode, Toni Leigh Heflin Mackey, Marty Ray Wright.
He liked cooking (fry fish), bowling, dominoes, camping, fishing, and hunting with his kids and grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his parents Lon Albert Wright, Katie Ray (Whitley) Wright, Brother Richard Harold Wright, and son in laws Vernon Dell Heflin and Donnie Ray Bode.
Survived by wife Shirley Gay Morrison Wright of 58 yrs, children Trisha Ann Bode, Toni Leigh Heflin Mackey and husband Pat Mackey, and Marty Ray Wright, Grandchildren Robert Ray Bode and fiance' Tonya Douthit, Jerry Dell Heflin and significant other Marlinda Davis, Jordon Renee' Heflin, Joseph Eli Bode, Robert James Mackey and significant other Nicole Villafana, Cobylynn Michele Wright and significant other Dustin Sloan, Cutter Ray Wright, Great grandchildren, Bryce Melvin Bode, Michael Vernon Heflin, Samuel Allen Sloan, and last but not least nephew Joe Ed Wright.
Survive by many nieces, nephews, and family friends
Visitation will take place at Jenkins Funeral home in Burnet, tx at 1:00 pm on Thursday December 17, 2020, Services will begin at 2:00 pm at Jenkins Funeral Home followed by graveside at Marble Falls cemetery in Marble Falls, Tx.
