Loyd Lynn Obituary

Loyd Lynn, 81, passed away on March 16, 2020.

Loyd was born in Oatmeal, Texas to Lowell and Ophelia Lynn on December 31, 1938.  He grew up in the Burnet area and graduated from Burnet High School. 

Loyd was known to be a perfectionist with his trade as a carpenter and specialized in cabinetry. Woodworking was his hobby.  He often made items such as a clock and jewelry boxes for his daughters and family. He loved the game of 42 and made his own set of dominoes.  He also loved making Martin bird houses and bird feeders.  One of note, he made 450 small detailed cedar shingles individually placed on top of the bird house.

He also loved bluegrass music and played the harmonica and guitar.  He was a Christian, a member of the Church of Christ and loved leading singing during church services.

He is preceded in death by his first wife, Syble Morgan Lynn; parents, Lowell and Ophelia Lynn and his sister, Carmoncita Marr and Stepson Reggie Godwin.

Loyd is survived by his wife, Eula Lynn; daughters; Marnita Smarr and husband Jerry, and Fawn Keith and her husband Coy; Stepdaughters; Cathy Scott and husband Chris, Rhonda Hollifield and husband Tommy; Stepsons; Geoffrey Godwin, Lamont Godwin. Also Brother Nelson Lynn and wife Judy. Grandchildren; Jeremy Smarr and his wife Libby, Jason Smarr and his wife Heather and Joseph Smarr and his wife Rachel; great grandchildren, Wyatt, Summer, Levi,Jackson and Peyton. He is survived by step grandchildren, step great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
