Louise Pearl King of Burnet, Texas was born on April 28, 1924, in Houston, Texas to Frank William Pasket and Catherine Valentine Gorney. She was the oldest of five children and lived a long and beautiful life until she passed peacefully on April 8, 2026, at the remarkable age of 101.
She was a strong and hardworking woman whose life was defined by love, resilience, and a deep commitment to caring for others. Louise had a nurturing spirit and a heart that always put her family first, giving endlessly of herself with kindness and grace. She was always up for an adventure whether it was to the casino or just a road trip, she never let the grass grow under her feet. Her strength, dedication, and quiet compassion touched everyone who knew her.
Louise was married to her beloved husband, Clyde King, for 48 years sharing a life built on love and devotion. She was a proud mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, and her family was the center of her world. She is lovingly remembered by her six grandchildren, fifteen great-grandchildren, two great-grandchildren and three siblings all of whom will continue to carry on her legacy of love and strength.
She had a very exciting career of over 25 years working at the Houston Livestock Show & Rodeo in ticket sales. She took pride in being part of such a cherished Houston tradition. In 1978 , she and her beloved Clyde retired to their favorite place, Burnet Texas where they enjoyed fishing, boating, golfing, playing cards, and dominoes and hosting a great many family and friends.
Louise was preceded in death by her husband Clyde King, longtime companion Ben Briggs and her three daughters, Mary Louise Swearengin Catherine King and Doris Frisby.
She leaves behind a legacy of love, hard work, and selflessness that will never be forgotten. Louise Pearl King will always be remembered as a true blessing, and her memory will live on in the hearts of all who loved her.
A Graveside Service is planned for 10:30 a.m., Saturday, April 18, 2026, at Memorial Oaks, 13001 Katy Fwy Houston, Texas 77097. Visitation will be held from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m., Friday, April 17, 2026, at Jenkins Funeral Home, Burnet, Texas.
