Linda Alice Campbell Hamilton, 80, passed away on May 15, 2023.
Memorial Service 11:00 am Friday May 26,2023 at Bertram Cumberland Presbyterian Church Bertram Tx.
Linda, the first child of A.D. and Aurelia (Heath), Campbell was born in Atlanta, Tx. August 29,1942. She enjoyed her first 12 years growing up among her siblings, numerous cousins and grandparents in the piney woods of east Texas. The family then moved to Denton Tx. where she made new friends and excelled in school. Weekends were filled with frequent trips to visit family in east Texas. Linda graduated Denton High School in 1960 while already enrolled in NTSU now UNT. Graduating college in 1964 she journeyed west to teach Beginners in the remote areas of the Navajo Nation. In September 1964 she married Samuel Hamilton. They spent 10 years working with Navajo children. She loved this work which was a highlight of her life. In 1974 Linda and Sam moved to Dallas. Linda began working for the US office of Education. In 1975 Linda and Sam were fulfilled with the birth of their son John. In 1983 Linda, Sam and John moved to Georgetown. Linda later worked at IRS and completed her career at Dept. of Veterans Affairs. Upon retirement in 1999 Linda and Sam moved to the family ranch in Burnet where she enjoyed her last 23 years. She loved her family, her church and traveling. Linda knew your name, called you by name and was genuinely interested in your story. Linda was predeceased by her parents and brothers Harold and Arlen Campbell. She is survived by her husband Sam Hamilton, son John Hamilton, sister Barbara (Richard) Clayton, brother-in-law Jerry (Elizabeth) Hamilton.
