Laurie Ann Nix Obituary

Laurie Myers Nix, born on November 27, 1961, passed away on April 17, 2023, in Live Oak, Texas, at the age of 61, from complications from COPD (Chronic obstructive pulmonary disease). She was born on November 27, 1961, in Austin, Texas, the daughter of Lloyd and Ruth Myers.
 
In 1979 she married Brian Painter, and though the marriage did not last, the two had three children together whom they loved.
 
In 1993 she married Kevin "Kelly" Nix, whom she considered the love of her life, and they had one child together.
 
Laurie was a resident of central Texas for most of her life. She lived in various towns across the Hill Country, such as Llano, Austin, Marble Falls, Liberty Hill, Round Rock, and Selma. Laurie worked in the retail industry for most of her life and worked her way up from a new associate to holding various management and leadership positions over the years. She was admired for her hard work and dedication, and she always took care of her employees first and foremost.
 
Laurie was loved by many and will be dearly missed. She is survived by her four children Jason Painter, Jeff Painter with spouse Amanda, Joshua Painter with spouse Tina, and Kyle Nix with spouse Taylor. In addition, she has four wonderful grandchildren, Nathan, Brianna, Dianna, and Ryan, and two sisters, Kathy Myers Courtney-Canady and Chris Ricketson, and a half-sister Mitzi Myers.

Her extended family also includes nieces and nephews Kristin & Jason Davis and their children, Brandon & Jessica Canady and their children, Blair & Chadd Heiligmann and their daughter, and Paige Canady & Mikki Munoz, and Zachary Ricketson and Ashley Ricketson, and Haley Ricketson.
 
She is preceded in death by her 2nd husband, Kelly (d.2006), her 1st husband, Brian (d. 2017), and her parents, Lloyd (d. 2011) and Ruth (d. 2019).
 
Laurie's memorial will be held at 11:00 am on April 29, 2023, at Jenkins Funeral Home, 109 N. Main St Burnet, Texas 78611.
