Larry Holloway Obituary

Larry Max Holloway passed away peacefully on Sunday November 27th, 2022, at the age of 80. Larry was born November 22, 1942, in Brady, Texas to Albert and Beatrice Holloway. He married the love of his life Carolyn (Schatzie) Wipff in 1965 and their marriage was blessed with two children. Larry and Schatzie made their home in Mason, TX as well as in the small Texas town of Quemado.

Larry served in the National Guard for 15 years and was a Texas game warden for 8 years. He served the Mason community as a deputy sheriff for 10 years.  Larry and Carolyn retired to the Lake Buchanan area, and in retirement, he served the Burnet community through Our Mother of Sorrows Catholic church.

Larry loved the outdoors, you could almost always guarantee he’d be outside tinkering on a project, big or small, however his favorite kind of project was a car. He was known for his story telling abilities and could captivate anyone he met by telling a story about his experiences. He received great joy in making others laugh, he loved telling funny little anecdotes to those he met.

Larry is survived by his wife, Carolyn. He is also survived by his sister, Sherry Willmann, of Mason, his son Max Holloway and wife Melissa, of Leander, his daughter, Michelle Barnes and husband Chris, of Bertram; his grandchildren, Brittany Duecker and husband Adam, Tanner Barnes, Joe Reppert and Kaylin Arnett, his nephew Quade Willmann and wife Ashley and their son Ryder, and his niece Jayme Henrich and husband Jared.

He is preceded in death by his parents, brother-in-law IG Willmann and nephew Quint Willmann.
