Kenneth Edward Smith “Smitty” of Nacogdoches, TX, passed from this life July 26th, 2024 at the age of 94.
He was born April 13, 1930, in Shivers, MS, to parents Frank and Inez Smith. Kenneth married Cleatus Maurine Lehman in June 1951. Shortly after they married, Kenneth was shipped to Korea, where he served as a Corporal
in the US Army. After completing Journeyman training at Armco Steel, he began his career working as an electrician at ARMCO for over 45 years. One of Kenneth’s favorite past-times was working on cars, especially restoring Volkswagens and other vintage cars & trucks. He liked hot rods and hard rock music. Other hobbies he enjoyed were gardening and grilling or smoking a good brisket or sausage.
He is preceded in death by his parents, wife, Cleatus, son, James Doyle Smith,
sisters, Audrey, Alfredia, Julia, and brothers, Gordon and Francis.
He is survived by sons, Kenneth Ernest Smith (Shirley), Lewis Erwin Smith (Clare), grandchildren, Crystal Smith, Carl Smith (Renee), Destiny Smith (Aaron), Jordan Smith (Kristina), and Ellie & Jolie Smith; great-grandchildren, Cameron, Shayna, Riley, Regan, Grayson, Lydia, Lincoln and Makinley.
Graveside Services were held on Tuesday, July 30, 2024, at Lakeland Hills Memorial Park, Burnet, Texas.
