Johnnie Bindseil Obituary

Johnnie Bindseil was born on October 26, 1950, in Blanco, Texas and went home to be with the Lord on June 13, 2025.

He was a lifetime rancher and farmer.  Johnnie grew up in Johnson City, Texas, where he attended school.  He was in the U. S. Army Reserves from April 30, 1970, until June 11, 1976.  Johnnie grew up in the Texas Hill Country and even as a child he loved animals and working in the hay fields,

He and his wife Debbie moved to Spicewood, Texas in 1977 and have been lifelong residents.  If anyone needed information on where a person lived or if livestock were out on the roadway, they called Johnnie.  He pretty well knew everyone and never met a stranger.  He loved visiting with people he knew or met wherever he went.

Johnnie served on numerous boards in Burnet County – Burnet County Farm Bureau, Spicewood Community Center, Burnet County Fair and Rodeo Association, Spicewood VFD/EMS, Burnet County Appraisal District as an Ag Advisor, and Spicewood ESD #9 to name some of them.

He is survived by his wife, Debbie Bindseil; daughter, Jeannie Hunter and husband Chad; son, Ricky Bindseil and wife Missy; grandson, Cade Bindseil; granddaughter, Emma Bindseil and numerous nieces and nephews, along with many good friends.

Johnnie is preceded in death by his father, Henry Bindseil; mother, Valta Marie Pierce; sister, Mary Jane Fry, and brother, David Bindseil.

The family wishes to send our heartfelt thanks to the staff, doctors, and nurses at St. David’s South Austin Medical Hospital, Texas Oncology, and the bone marrow team.

In lieu of flowers you may make a donation in Johnnie’s honor to the Spicewood Community Center, PO Box 44, Spicewood, TX 78669.
