Jack Chambless, 92, passed away on June 24, 2021.
A Celebration of Jack’s life will be held at 11:00 a.m., July 17, 2021 at Buchanan West Baptist Church, 850 Lillian Dean St, Buchanan Dam, TX 78609. A luncheon will follow in the church fellowship hall.
Jack was born on July 13, 1928 in Wichita Falls, TX to Foncy C. and Roberta F. Chambless.
Jack attended Central Texas College and proudly served his country, first with the U.S. Army Air Corp in 1946 and then with the New Mexico National Guard as a Captain from 1950 – 1968.
He married the love of his life, Treva M. Chambless and together they raised 1 child, Dwayne. They retired to Buchanan Dam after owning Clovis Moving and Storage in Clovis, NM. They are members of Buchanan West Baptist Church. Jack loved woodworking, fishing, boating, and watching Dallas Cowboys football, the University of Texas Longhorns, and the Texas Tech Red Raiders. He was a member of the Clovis Masonic Lodge, Shrine Drum and Bugle Corp, and the Elks Lodge of Clovis.
Jack is preceded in death by his parents, Foncy C. Chambless and Roberta F. Chambless; brothers, Cecil Crawley, Perry Crawley, and LeRoy Chambless; sisters, Mary Carter and Wanda Humphrey.
He is survived by his wife, Treva M. Chambless; son, Dwayne Chambless and spouse Sharon; grandchildren, Michael Chambless and spouse Jenna, Dane Chambless and spouse Tamara, Elizabeth Vinson and spouse Brad; five great grandchildren (Brooke, Brady, Callen, Braxton and Trevor) and many nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers the family asks that donations be made in Jack’s memory to the Buchanan Volunteer Fire Department or Buchanan West Baptist Church.
