JD Pruitt

J. D. Pruitt, 79, passed away on September 12, 2025. 

A Celebration of Life is planned for 11:00 a.m., Saturday, October 4, 2025, at Bertram Church of Christ in Bertram, Texas.

He was born on December 3, 1945, to Jasper Ray and Barbara Marie Pruitt.  JD loved classic country music, dancing the Country 2 step, hunting, fishing, Junking, selling, collecting and watching westerns on TV.

He is preceded in death by his Parents, and brother, Daniel Ray Pruitt.

JD is survived by his wife of 24 years, Ruth Pruitt; children, Barbara Elaine Cody (Amiel) of Burdett KS, JD Jr. Pruitt (Tammy) of Mexia TX, Howard Wayne Pruitt (Stephanie) of Troy TX, Melissa Ann Harbaugh (Greg) of Speegleville TX ,  Jasper Ray Pruitt (Emily) of Hewitt TX, Albert Barnes of Cedar Park, Richard Barnes (Ruby) of Marble Falls, and Carol Gacha (David) of Kempner; numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren as well as his siblings, Mary Ella Pruitt of Temple TX, Howard Lee Pruitt of Farmington NM, and Barbara Mae Pruitt of Austin
