Henry Cleveland Gilmore, Jr, 92, passed away on January 14, 2022.
A graveside service is planned for 1:00 p.m., Monday, January 24, 2022, at Post Mountain Cemetery, Burnet, Texas, and officiated by Pastor James Mosley.
Henry was born in Birmingham, Alabama on March 7, 1929, to Henry Cleveland Gilmore and Ronzie Crook Gilmore. He proudly served his country in the United States Air Force from 1946-1973 where he was awarded the World War II Victory medal. Upon his honorable discharge from the military, Henry worked for the United States Postal Service in downtown Baltimore, Maryland from 1974 to 1991.
He married the love of his life, Tsune Handa Gilmore in 1959 and together they raised 2 children. He was a member of New Shiloh Baptist Church in Baltimore. Henry loved his family, Baltimore Orioles baseball, and family card and dominoes games.
He is preceded in death by his beloved wife, Tsune Handa Gilmore; parents, Henry Cleveland Gilmore and Ronzie Gilmore; son, Thomas Gilmore; and sisters, Virginia Harris and Idella Blue.
He is survived by his son, Henry Handa Gilmore, and wife Tonja; his daughter, Christine Elizebeth Gilmore; his brother, Willie Nelson, Sr., and his grandchildren Geoffrey Gilmore and Miko Banks.
