Freddie Joe Blalack Obituary

Freddie Joe Blalack, age 90, a beloved figure in Horseshoe Bay, Texas, passed away peacefully on January 18, 2025, surrounded by his family with the National Anthem for an NFL game playing in the background.

He was born in 1934 in Big Spring, Texas, to Pat and Irma Blalack. He is survived by his beloved wife of 42 years, Anita, his brother Bill and wife Jane, daughter Becky Thompson and husband Tracy, son Michael Blalack and wife Michele, daughter Johnnie Schmidt and husband Mark, daughter Sherri Blalack, stepson Greg Rees and wife Darla, as well as seven grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren, whom he adored dearly.

Freddie enjoyed many activities such as watching football, fishing, playing card games, and boating. He was well known for his hilarious corny dad jokes, which he loved to tell.

In his community, Freddie was widely recognized as a social butterfly and a skilled handyman. He could build and fix anything with ease and never hesitated to help anyone who asked. His kindness and generosity touched the lives of everyone he knew, and he will be deeply missed.

A celebration of life will be held at the Sandy Harbor Volunteer Fire Department on Saturday, March 1 at 2:00pm. In lieu of flowers, please consider donations to the Sandy Harbor Volunteer Fire Department or the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society.
