Eddie (Pete) Cleve Wingrove 84 went home to be with Jesus on Saturday, December 23, 2023 at Granite Mesa Health Center in Marble Falls, TX.
Pete was born April 27, 1939, in Amarillo, TX to E.R. (Rand) Wingrove and Hazel Pittman Wingrove. He graduated from Dumas High School, Dumas, TX in 1957.
Pete met his wife Myrna in Amarillo, TX and married in 1960. Together they had three children all born and raised in Amarillo. The family lived in Texas the majority of their lives and also Nebraska and California where they made many friends.
Pete enjoyed being outdoors, creating and building things with his hands, all sports and singing along with his favorite Country & Southern Gospel groups.
Pete attended West Texas State University in Canyon, TX in 1959. He went on to become the Executive Vice President of Custom Wood Products in Amarillo.
In 1976, the family moved to Beatrice, NE where Pete managed National Accounts at Store Kraft Manufacturing Company.
In 1979, Pete and the family were transferred to Store Kraft’s Southern CA office where he was part of the West Coast Management team. In 1981, the family was transferred back to NE where Pete resumed his role working with National Accounts.
In 1986, Pete and family returned to TX where he managed National Accounts for Amstore. Pete retired from Amstore in 1999, with his wife Myrna they moved to Marble Falls from the Dallas/Ft. Worth Metroplex.
Pete was raised in a Christian home and accepted Jesus as his Savior as a young boy. In March 1973, he was ordained as a Deacon at Avondale Baptist Church in Amarillo, TX. He considered it a great privilege to serve the church in this capacity and honored his commitment to the best of his ability for 50 years. He served in several Southern Baptist Churches throughout his life. He was an active member of First Baptist Church, Marble Falls, TX.
Pete is survived by his children: two daughters, Sherri Wingrove of Meadowlakes, TX, Lorri Fossler and husband Johnny of Beatrice, NE; son, Craig Wingrove and wife Jill of Austin, TX.
His nine grandchildren: Tyler Trauernicht of Platte City, MO, Drew Fossler of Beatrice, NE, Dane Fossler and wife Bailey of Beatrice, NE, Daleigh Ivey and husband Phillip of Beatrice, NE, Colton Wingrove, Garrett Wingrove, Sarah Katherine Wingrove all of Baton Rouge, LA, Cassidy Stevenson and Kendall Stevenson of Austin, TX and six great grandchildren.
He is survived by his niece: Toni Reskey and husband Charles of Saint Augustine, FL, nephews: Dickie Beard and wife Sue of Tacoma, WA, Tommy Beard and wife Debbie, Scott Brown and wife Linda, brother in law: Leslie Brown and wife Nancy all of Amarillo, TX.
Proceeded in death by his wife; Myrna Ruth Van Vleet Wingrove, his parents; E.R. (Rand) and Hazel Pittman Wingrove and his sister Billie June Wingrove Beard.
A special thank you to the staff at Granite Mesa and New Century Hospice of Marble Falls, TX for their excellent care of our dad. At Pete’s request, no funeral or memorial services will be held.
