Diane Franklin Obituary

Diane Rose Franklin, 81, passed away on February 28, 2024.

Funeral services are planned for 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, March 5, 2024, at Jenkins Funeral Home, Burnet, Texas with burial to follow in Bear Creek Cemetery, Bertram, Texas.

Diane was born on November 3, 1942, in Austin, Texas to Cap and Lavon Rachel Innmon. She grew up and attended school in Austin.  Diane married Thomas Franklin and together they raised 3 children.  She had many hobbies such as watching DIY shows, sewing, quilting blankets, crocheting, and making pillows.  She also loved playing Marbles with her friends and family. Sometimes the girls were winners and sometimes they were losing, but she always used her special purple dice as they were her good luck charm.   Diane was also a big Dallas Cowboys fan, and you would always catch her watching the games no matter what else was going on.  She did not drive, so she was always up to going anywhere.  If you told her you were going to pick her up at a certain time you had better be there at that time or she was calling to find out where you were.

Along with her hobbies, she loved taking care of her sheep.  Any time they had babies not close to the pen, she would find them and carry them back.  She would care for them and nurture them until they were strong enough.  If they did not come to the pen, she would drive around in her club car looking for them.

Diane served with the Bertram Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary while her husband and son were active with the Bertram VFD, with bake sales, fish fry’s, and making sandwiches when the firemen were out fighting fires.

Most importantly to Diane, she loved spending time with her friends and family, watching her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren grow up.

Diane is preceded in death by her husband of 39 years, Thomas Franklin; parents, Cap Innmon and Lavon Rachel Wommack Innmon; brother, Larry Innmon; Parents-in-law, Ernest and Estella Franklin; brothers-in-law, Edmon Franklin and Billy Joe Franklin; sisters-in-law, Earlene Wimberly and Earldean Sollars.

She is survived by her children, Beverly Hans and husband Terry, Thomas Franklin Jr and wife Georgia, and Rebecca Meador; grandchildren, Monica Fiero (Steven), Michael Franklin, Matthew Meador (Heather), Lauren Cornett (Dustin), and Emma Hans; great grandchildren, Sophia Fiero, Logan Fiero, Noah Meador, Jensen Meador, Scarlett Rose Cornett, and Nora Cornett; brothers and sisters, Shelia Andrews, Larry Innmon, Melissa Goodman, and Judy Hilbig as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
