Dale Clark Haney

Dale Clark Haney, 67, passed away on January 14, 2026 in Bertram, Texas. Dale was on August 7, 1958 in Point Pleasant, New Jersey to Lt. Commander, Norman Lee Haney and Eslie Olsson Haney. He was the youngest of 7 siblings to very busy Navy family.  Dale spent his youth growing up mainly in Southern California, particularly Lakeside, California.  After graduating high school, Dale had a brief stint in the Marines. 

As the youngest of the 7 siblings, Dale was the entertainment to his older brothers, including in his younger years being talked into wearing diving weights and going “swimming”.  One can only imagine the other pranks pulled on the “baby”. 

As being the “baby” of the family, Dale was over 6 feet tall, towering over his siblings.  Dale had a great smile and sense of humor and loved trucking with his own truck and then eventually working for Brinks prior to his diagnosis with congestive heart failure which eventually ended his life.

Dale spent 15 years in Utah living with and near one of his older brothers, Mark and his family.  Dale made many friends in Utah and after his diagnosis, followed Mark to Texas to spend his final 5 years with many friends at the RV community, where he lived.  He made many friends, played poker (Dale loved gambling), dog sat, ran errands and helped everyone at the park using his big Ford truck.

Dale never knew a stranger and lived a full life.  Dale never married or had children, he just wasn’t cut out for that kind of thing but loved his family deeply. 

Dale is preceded in death by his grandparents, parents Lee and Elsie “Chic” Haney.  Dale is survived by his siblings, Susan (Ken) Bryman, Bruce (Marionne) Haney, Scott Haney, Lisa (Dean) Haney-Spurr, Mark (Diane) Haney and Shawn (Roxanne) Haney as well as many nieces and nephews. 

A Celebration of Life was held on February 7, 2026 at the Shilo RV Park in Bertram TX.
