Cleo Keith Wells passed away on November 16, 2021 in Ballinger, Texas. She was born on October 8, 1927 in Ralls, TX to Robert Nolan Keith and Mary Loyal Cole Keith. Cleo married Walter M. Wells on May 20, 1946 in Dallas, Texas. He had just completed serving in the U.S. Navy during WWII. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints Salt Lake Temple.
The had five daughters. Cleo was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. She was a member of the Jesus Church of Latter-day Saints. She served in the women’s, teen girls’, and children’s organizations of her church. Mrs. Wells worked in various positions and volunteered for several services in the community. Cleo’s mantra was, “Anybody can get a job if they are willing to work.”
Cleo is survived by daughters Kym (Ray) Archie of Killeen, Nola (Ronnie Pete) Cooper of Rockwood, Lynn (Ronnie) King of Ballinger, Gayl (Eddie) Clark of Snyder, Tony (Dave) Giles of St. George, UT, brother, Jeff (Elenia) Keith of The Woodlands, 26 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren, 5 great great grandchildren, 6 nieces, and 5 nephews.
Mrs. Wells was preceded in death by husband Walter M. Wells, parents R. N. and Mary Keith, sisters Bonnie Hughes and Maurice Phillips, granddaughter, Christy Kay Cooper, and 5 great grandchildren.
No services at prior request of the deceased.
Cleo loved nature and her dogs. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to a dog rescue group of your choice.
