Clarence Fleming “Sonny” Vaughan entered peacefully into the gates of Heaven on June 20, 2020 after he fought a courageous battle with cancer.
Sonny was born on July 2, 1947 to Clarence and Mary Vaughan in Cleveland, Ohio.
Sonny was an Army Veteran who served his country during the Vietnam War.
In 1971, Sonny met the love of his life, Joyce Anne Marie Morris. On May 22, 1971, the two became husband and wife and together they raised three beautiful children.
Sonny was a devoted Husband, Father, Papa, Brother, Uncle and Friend to all who knew him. He knew the meaning of hard work and provided well for his family.
Sonny is proceeded in death by his parents; his sister Sarah Dawson. Along with his stepsisters, Lorena Vaughan, Mildred Coffman, Lois Bifro, Rita Nelson and stepbrother, Jack Vaughan.
Sonny is survived by his wife of 49 years, Joyce Vaughan of Burnet. His daughter, Gloria Vaughan of Burnet. His son, Bobby Vaughan of Burnet and his youngest son, Tim Vaughan and his wife, Punnee of Bastrop. Sonny was the proud Papa to Tristen, Hailey, Brooke and Mason. He is also survived by his brother, Chuck Vaughan and his wife, Cindy of Berea, Ohio. Along with his sister, Mary Vaughan of Ohio. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews in Ohio and Michigan.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday June 27, 2020 at 1:00 pm at First Baptist Church of Burnet with Bro. Doug Lindley officiating.
