Charles P. Dunlap, 84, a resident of Dripping Springs, Texas, passed away on May 12, 2021.
A funeral service is to be held at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, May 18, 2021 at Jenkins Funeral Home, Burnet, Texas with burial to take place at Lakeland Hills Memorial Park in Burnet, Texas.
Charles Preston Dunlap was born on July 4, 1936 in Dallas, Texas. He was a fourth generation Texan, born to Clinton Ward Dunlap and Verda Mae Fagan.
He received his Masters in Engineering from Rice University in 1960 where he also participated in the glee club. Charles was an accomplished Nuclear and Petroleum Engineer. He belonged to the Society of Petroleum Engineers. Charles was fluent in 5 languages, having lived and worked in Brazil and Saudi Arabia. He loved adventure, traveling, and music. He sang solos in church. He was a member of the Baptist church and served as Church Treasurer.
He is preceded in death by his parents and siblings Danny, Wanda Jane, and Dwight Dunlap, all of Amarillo, Texas.
Charles is survived by his wife of more than 64 years, Charlotte Casey Dunlap of Dripping Springs, Texas; brothers, George M. Dunlap and Richard R. Dunlap of Salem, Oregon; son, Chuck Dunlap Jr. of Austin, Texas and daughter, Charmyn Casey Dunlap of North Central Texas. His legacy also includes six grandchildren and twelve great grandchildren.
