Carolyn Rae Watkins Faulkner

Funeral services for Carolyn Rae Watkins Faulkner, age 84 of Burnet, TX will be held on Saturday, September 24th at 10am at Lakeland Hills Memorial Park with Pastor Jim Coursey of Mosaic Community Church officiating. Afterwards, family and friends will gather at First Assembly of God Church in Marble Falls where she and her husband Gerald attended the last several years.

Previously from Paris, TX, Carolyn and husband Gerald Wayne Faulkner have resided in Burnet Co for the last 25 years. Carolyn was born on August 16, 1938 to Emmit Watkins and Mary Elizabeth Huey Watkins in Borger, TX. Most of her childhood life was spent living in the Texas Panhandle with her parents and eight siblings. Carolyn attended Junior High and High School in Pampa, TX. In 1955 while participating in Youth activities at Pampa First Assembly of God Church she met and married her “life-long love”, Gerald Wayne Faulkner. The enjoyed 67 year’s of marriage together.

Living in Pampa to Talco to Leveland, TX, they were blessed with three children, Karen Sue, Teresa Jane, and Gary Wayne Faulkner. Her son Gary preceded her in death in January 2015. Christ, husband, children, and family were her priorities. Carolyn was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and aunt. She was a most wonderful cook. So, providing a home-cooked meal when visiting her home was a “must” especially fried chicken.

Together, she and Gerald owned and operated a Structural Steel business in Paris, TX for 30 years. During that time, she developed her painting skills, creating beautiful oils and acrylics. After her children left home she attended Real Estate School, becoming a part-time Real Estate agent. Upon partial retirement, they moved to the Hill Country and have resided here for the last 25 years.

She is survived by husband Gerald Wayne Faulkner, daughters Karen and husband Mike Berryhill of Corpus Christi, TX, Teresa Nickerson of Paris, TX.; Grandchildren, Jason and wife Leslie Cullison and their children Sarah, Grace, Claire, Stephen, Anna, and David, Amber and Joey Gresham, their daughter Everly Faith, Lance and Tonya Cullison, Jennifer and husband Charles Whitley, their children Priya, Adin, and Gavin, Jessica and husband Jason Glennon.
