Calvin Austin Lewis

Calvin Austin Lewis, 91, passed away on November 22, 2020.

A private graveside service is to be held with interment at Bethel Cemetery, Burnet, Texas.

Calvin Lewis was born on February 14, 1929 to Francis Carroll and Emma Christina Hall Lewis in Smithwick, Texas.  He attended Burnet High School and had a career as an electrician.  He married Doris Glimp Lewis and together they raised two children.  Calvin loved the outdoors, traveling the United States with his beloved wife Doris, and 30 plus years of square dancing.  He was also a member of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers for more than 75 years.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Francis Carroll Lewis and Emma Christina Hall Lewis; brother, Gene Lewis, and sister, Ramona Lewis Lyda.

Calvin is survived by his wife of 71 years, Doris Glimp Lewis; daughter, Diane Lewis Mullens and husband David; son, Curtis Lewis and wife Debbie; grandchildren, Amanda Mullens Weaver (Cody), Adam Lewis (Teagen); Christina Mullens Perez (Paige), and Grace Lewis Mobbs (Chase); great grandchildren, Hanna Weaver, Evelyn Lewis, Kynlee Perez, Michael Lewis, and McCray Perez.

Memorial contributions may be made in Calvin’s memory to Burnet County Heritage Society, PO Box 74, Burnet, Texas 78611.
