KILLEEN- Bryan Shaver, beloved husband and cherished father, passed away peacefully on August 22, 2024 at the age of 65.
Born on March 3, 1959 in Nashville, Tennessee, Bryan grew up as a military child with his father, the late Dr. Glyndon Shaver, his mother, Faye Shaver, and his four sisters, Lynn, Jill, Sherri, and Crystal. He graduated with his Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from The University of Texas at Austin. Initially, Bryan started out a career in the semiconductor field, working for companies such as Motorola and Sematech. He then took a job with Cypress Semiconductor, which moved his family to Minnesota for 23 years. While in Minnesota, Bryan left the semiconductor field and transitioned to the medical-device industry, landing a job with one of the leading medical device companies globally, St Jude Medical, which would then merge with Abbott Laboratories in 2017. He joined a team whose focus was testing and preparing heart catheters for FDA approval. Bryan remained with Abbott Laboratories up until his retirement in 2018. Throughout his career, Bryan accomplished much, and gained the admiration of colleagues through his dedication and work ethic.
Despite his successful and meaningful career, Bryan would say his greatest accomplishment in life would be the family he built with his wife of 34 years. Marrying Michele Stanfield in 1990, Bryan and Michele would welcome their first child, Nathan, in 1991. From there, the family would grow with the addition of Brianna, Elizabeth, Jonathan, Katherine, Aaron, Victoria, Brynne, and Ethan. He was a proud grandfather to 13 grandchildren and counting…
For those who knew Bryan, he is remembered as a man of simplicity and gentleness, whose heart was devoted to Christ and his family. In the words of his favorite Christian artist, Bob Bennett, “Way down, I know that I am a fortunate man to have known Divine Love.” Bryan was a devoted family man, known for his kindness, wisdom, sense of humor, and his deep love for the Lord. He touched the lives of many and will be deeply missed by all who were blessed to know him.
A funeral service to honor Bryan’s life will be held on Saturday, August 31, 2024, at 10:30 AM at Hill Country Fellowship, 200 Houston Clinton Dr. in Burnet, TX, followed by a luncheon.
