Bertie Blue Obituary

Bertie Sue Blue, 78, of Burnet, TX, passed from this life in her home surrounded by family and the love of her life holding her hand in the early morning of September 8, 2019.

She was born November 11, 1940 in Brady, Tx to the late Waymon and Katie Turner.
She Married Gail Blue In San Antonio, Tx on December 15,1958 and they had 9 children.

Bertie is survived by her husband of 60 yrs, Gail Ray Blue, her children, Barbara Fowler and Doug, Karen Rabun and Mark, Ray Blue, Judy Brooks and Chuck, Ronnie Blue, Rodney Blue and Elia, Cathy Janson and Danny. Her 17 Grandchildren, Crystal Everett and Michael, Angel Blackard and Steven, Justin Fowler, Charity Bailey and Kenny, Candice Sanford and Justin, Bryce Rabun and Laura, Rocky Blue and Brittany Everett, and Heather Blue and Josh Howells, Megan Hendershot and Cody, Ryan Brooks, Emily Blue, Shayla Blue, Tyler Blue, Kendall Blue, Haley Blue, Daniel Janson, Kaitlyn Janson. She was blessed with her 20 Great grandchildren. Her Siblings include, Carolyn Posey and Kenneth, Lola Roberts and David, Sharon Burns and Rick, Janet Shoemake, Glenda Nelson, Travis Turner and Ethel May, numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends she loved and touched so deeply.

Bertie is proceeded in death by her parents Waymon and Katie Turner, her sisters Margie Turner and Kathy Thane, and 2 children, Brenda Gail and Randel Carl.

Bertie had such a kind servants heart, always ready to serve and help others. From cooking for her husband and family to
volunteering at her church clothing ministry (Martha’s Ministry). Her home was like home for many, she enjoyed cooking, sewing scrapbooking and caring for her plants.
She was a loving wife and mother grandmother(Nana), sister and friend and most importantly she was a godly women and prayer warrior.
She is known to friends and family as Nana Blue and Momma Blue and for her Banana bread and chicken and dumplings.

While living in San Antonio, Bertie attended First UPC San Antonio, Pastor James Jackson and was currently a member of New Life Burnet, Pastor Doug Fowler.

Viewing will be Wednesday Sept. 11, 2019 from 6-8pm at Edgar & Jenkins Family Funeral Home in Burnet, Tx.

Funeral Services will be Thursday, Sept. 12 at 12pm at Edgar & Jenkins Funeral Home in Burnet Tx.
Graveside will be at Post Mountain Cemetery in Burnet, Tx immediately following the service.

A Celebration service will be at First UPC San Antonio, Saturday, September 14th  at 11am
