Barton G. Wood, 73, passed away on July 14, 2026, at his home in Burnet, Texas.

A memorial service is planned for 2:00 p.m., Saturday, August 1, 2026, at Vandeveer St. Church of Christ with Mr. Tim Denton officiating.

He was born on November 21, 1953, in Tacoma, WA. to Jospeh and Dorothy Wood. He married the love of his life, Cheryl Wood and were married for more than 23 years.  Bart retired from West Coast Door after 25 years of service.  He was a faithful member of Vandeveer St. Church of Christ for many years.  Bart enjoyed woodworking, fixing things around the house and mowing the lawn while smoking his cigar on his riding lawn mower.  He also enjoyed sitting in the sun outside and playing with his dogs, and he loved shooting pool. Every year Bart would look forward to decorating the outside of the house for Christmas and having the kids from the Cherokee Children’s Home come to visit.

He is preceded in death by all of the Wood brothers, Lamont Wood, Byron Wood, Lloyd Wood, Gary Hausan; Sister, Donna Graham, and Richard Simons,

Bart is survived by his Wife of 23 years, Cheryl Wood; children, Robert Wood, Tina Wood, and Deborah Gyamfi; sisters, Darlene Dahl and JoAnn Overby. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Payton Ashley Marie Wood, Cecil Johnson, Christopher Gifford, Kyuchin Gifford, and Dyami Gifford.
