Audrey Gober Obituary

Audrey Gober, a beacon of creativity, compassion, and love, departed this world on December 11 at the age of 84, surrounded by loved ones, leaving behind a legacy as colorful and rich as the artwork she so passionately created throughout her life. Born on March 5, 1939, to Aubrey Ray and Beatrice Simmons, Audrey's journey was a canvas painted with the vibrant strokes of care, teaching, and unyielding love for both family by blood and hand picked.

Audrey's artistic spirit radiated from her every pore. Her life was a masterpiece of expression, reflecting the kaleidoscope of her imagination. Whether through wonderful creations, or the beauty she found in everyday moments, Audrey's creative touch left an indelible mark on all who were fortunate enough to witness it.

Audrey's heart overflowed with kindness and generosity. Her nurturing spirit extended to all, from her cherished family to those she welcomed into her life. Audrey's commitment to making a difference reached new heights in her role as a instructional assistant for children with complex disabilities at Leander High School, where she dedicated herself to shaping young special minds and fostering a love for learning.

Married to the love of her life, Wayne, having been together for a total of 51 years they had just reached their 46th wedding anniversary on December 2nd. Audrey's marriage was a testament to enduring love, unwavering support, and shared laughter. Together, they created a family that became the center of Audrey's universe, a source of boundless joy and pride.

Audrey faced the profound loss of her son, Val Musgraves, with grace and strength that spoke volumes of her character. She found solace and strength in the love and memories they shared, carrying Val's spirit with her until the end.

Goddaughters Lesli and Arika and their children (her grandkids) Jamie, Carli, Kaya, Thunder and Chaos were not just recipients of Audrey's care; they were embraced as extensions of her own heart. Audrey's influence on their lives was immeasurable, and her godmotherly love will continue to guide them.

Audrey was preceded in death by her parents, son, daughter-in-law (Lydia Gayle), sisters Vivian Procopio, Betty McKown and her brother Aubrey Ray. She is survived by her baby brothers Harland Simmons and Clay Simmons, along with beloved brothers and sisters in law, numerous nieces and nephews and several other of “Ms. G’s kids“ that were all so very blessed to be a part of her life. Together, they shared the ups and downs of life, creating a tapestry of memories that will endure through the ages.

A memorial service to celebrate Audrey's life will be held 9:30am on Saturday, December 16, 2023 at Marble Falls Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made to special Olympics in Audrey's memory.

As we bid farewell to Audrey, let us remember the vibrant colors she brought into our lives, the warmth of her care, and the lessons of love and creativity she bestowed upon us. May she rest in eternal peace, surrounded by the artistry of the heavens, forever embraced by the love she so generously gave to all.
