Anna Mae Knox Justice passed from this life on August 19, 2026, at the age of 88. She was born on November 3, 1937, on the family farm located between Raymondville and San Perlita, Texas.

Funeral Services are planned for 10:00 a.m., Thursday, August 27, 2026 at Jenkins Funeral Home, Burnet, Texas.

In 1943, Anna Mae’s father purchased a farm north of Bertram, Texas, where he raised his family. Anna Mae grew up there and graduated from high school in Bertram. She was a faithful member of the Bertram Church of Christ throughout her life.

After high school, Anna Mae moved to Corpus Christi, Texas, where she lived with her uncle. It was there that she met Samuel “Sam” Preston Justice, who was serving in the United States Navy. The two fell in love, married, and began their life together. Sam later accepted a position with Texas Instruments in Garland, Texas.

Anna Mae worked for H-E-B as a computer operator until she decided to leave her career to become a full-time homemaker. She devoted herself to caring for her home and family, a role she embraced with love and dedication.

Anna Mae and Sam lived in Garland for many years. After Sam retired in the late 1990s, they returned to Anna Mae’s family farm in Bertram, where they built their home on a portion of the land she had inherited. They became active members of the Vanderveer Street Church of Christ and enjoyed many years together in the Bertram community.

In January 2022, Anna Mae and Sam moved to Wildflower Meadows in Burnet, Texas, where they spent their remaining years.

Anna Mae will be lovingly remembered by her brother, James Knox, and his wife, Laquita, of Pflugerville, Texas; her sister-in-law, Barbara Knox, of Calera, Oklahoma; her brother-in-law, Bryan Sr., of Corpus Christi, Texas; and her eight nieces and nephews, along with several great-nieces and great-nephews.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Samuel Preston Justice; her parents, Buel and Maggie Knox; her sister and brother-in-law, Emma and Joe Acuff; her brother, Bently Knox; her sister, Allene Knox; her brother-in-law, Beatrice Knox Bryan; and other beloved family members who welcomed her home.

Anna Mae leaves behind a legacy of love, faith, family, and devotion. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her, but her memory will live on in the hearts of her family and friends.

May she rest peacefully, and may her family find comfort in the knowledge that she is now home with the Lord.
