Alfred Hoskins Obituary

Alfred Timothy Hoskins, age 63, of Bertram, Texas, went home to be with his Heavenly Father on January 8, 2026. The
family extends their heartfelt gratitude to Jenkins Funeral Home of Burnet, Texas, for the care and compassion as we laid
Tim to rest.
Tim was born on May 3, 1962, in Knoxville, Tennessee, to Tom and Nancy Hoskins. He spent his early years in Knoxville
with his parents and older brother, Tom. Several years later Tim’s parents moved to Lexington, Kentucky, where his
sisters Kim and Mary were born. In 1973, the Hoskins family settled in Austin, Texas, where Tim attended Lucy Reed
Elementary, Murchison Middle School and later graduated from Anderson High School.
He was an active member of Crestview Baptist Church throughout his childhood and early adulthood forming lifelong
friendships, finding Christ, getting baptized, and even meeting his future wife. After high school, Tim worked for several
companies, including Buchanan Welding and Reville Homes, before eventually starting his own business, Texas Touch-
Ups. Gifted with his hands and a natural talent for craftsmanship, Tim found joy and purpose working in the construction
industry. Tim loved the outdoors and embraced every opportunity to enjoy nature with activities such as fishing and
camping. Music was another great source of comfort and joy in his life. He loved all genres including country music and
rock and roll listening every chance he could. He was also known for his quick wit and playful spirit, he loved making
jokes and finding ways to make others laugh.
On July 25, 1981, Tim married Kristie Sherrill at Crestview Baptist Church in Austin. Together they welcomed two
children, Kristin in 1988 and Calvin in 1993, both born in Austin, TX. One of Tim’s greatest blessings was meeting his
grandson, Bodhi, born in 2014 to Kristin and her husband, Wes. Tim loved his family deeply and wanted nothing more
than the best for them.
Tim’s journey on this earth was not without challenges, but he leaned on his faith and the support of his family and friends
to give him strength. Tim passed away at his home in Bertram after experiencing health issues in the months prior.
Though he will be missed dearly, we take comfort in knowing that his relationship with Jesus assures us he is now at
peace in his eternal home, free from suffering.
Tim is preceded in death by his parents, Thomas Ashbrook Hoskins (2015) and Nancy Ann (Suffridge) Hoskins (1996), as
well as his grandparents Alfred and Martha Suffridge of Austin and Thomas and Hetty Hoskins of Knoxville. He is survived
by his former wife, Kristie Sherrill Hoskins of Austin; daughter Kristin and husband Wes Gutweiler and grandson Bodhi of
Sierra Vista, Arizona; son Calvin Hoskins and girlfriend Kenzie of Austin; sister Mary Miller and husband Johnny of Katy;
sister Kimberly Hoskins of La Vernia; and brother Tom Hoskins and wife Cindy of Liberty Hill. He is also survived by many
nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends who loved him.
We love you, Tim. We rejoice knowing you are reunited with your parents, grandparents, and all those who have gone
before you. Until we meet again, our brother in Christ.
Psalm 34:18
“The Lord is near to the brokenhearted and saves the crushed in spirit.”
