Robert Joe Pogue

Robert Joe Pogue, 82, passed away on October 10, 2019.

A Memorial Service is planned for 10:00 a.m., Monday, October 14, 2019 at Jenkins Funeral Home, formerly Edgar Funeral Home, Burnet, Texas.

Joe was born on September 23, 1937 in Burnet, Texas to John and Lubell Atkinson Pogue. He was a graduate of Texas A&M in 1960.  He married Carol Wright Pogue On October 2, 1965 He also proudly served his country in the United States Army.  After a career with the U. S. Forest he retired and in 1999 he returned to his true love of ranching in Burnet, TX. On February 23, 2017 he married Celeste Pogue with whom he joined First Christian Church Disciples of Christ in December of 2018.

He is preceded in death by his wife Carol Pogue; parents, John and Lubell Pogue; brother, John Pogue, Jr.; sister Mary Lou Guess and sister, Sarah Ruth Brown.

He is survived by his wife Celest Pogue; daughter, Susan Miller and her husband Tim; son, David Pogue and his wife Jennifer; grandchildren, Katie Miller, Tiffany Miller, Kaylee Pogue, Gracie Pogue, and Tyler Pogue; great grandchildren, Owen Burress and Brandon Blackwell.  He is also survived by, Phillip Brizendine, Amy Brown, Robert Brown, Renee Brizendine and Mac Guess.
