Dean/Dena Miracle Obituary

Dean/Dena Miracle, 66, passed away on January 10, 2020.

A Celebration of Life is to be held at 1:00 p.m., January 25, 2020 at Jenkins Funeral Home, 109 N. Main St Burnet, Texas.

Dean/Dena was born in Xenia, Ohio and graduated from Fairfield High School in 1972 then attended ITT Technical School in Louisville, Kentucky in 1974. In his early years he worked in maintenance and construction trades then with Travis County Parks advancing to Park Ranger from 1994-2000. In 2000 Dena became an LCRA Peace Officer.

In 1985 Dean/Dena became certified in Open Water Scuba Diving, Advanced Scuba Diver in 1987, Master Scuba Diver in 1989 and Dive Instructor in 1992.  She was also certified in Swift Water Rescue and as an EMT.  Additionally, Dena became certified by the Texas Commission on Law Enforcement Officer Standards and Education of an Advance Peace Officer as well as receiving the LCRA Unit Citation Award and the LCRA Purple Heart Award.  Dena medically retired in 2007.

She was a very creative and talented soul making gifts for others out of leather, wood, metal and stone.  Her interests were in leather working, fishing, canoeing, kayaking, metal arts, Motorcycle riding, making beaded jewelry, camping, gardening and so much more.  He loved listening to the Grateful Dead and Classic Rock Music as well as nature and spending time outdoors.  She was an animal lover, leaving behind her beloved little dog Dink and was preceded by Lacy and Sadie.

Dean/Dena’s survivors include, wife, Marilyn Miracle; sister, Judy A. Miracle and brother, Jerry L. Miracle (Linda); sister in law, Sheryl Perry (Jack), Carol Frymeyer (Rick); Nancy Carpenter' brother in law, David Day (Mary)  He is preceded in death by his father, Claud O. Miracle and mother, Lula “Fay” Triplet; nephew, Dustin R. Miracle.

A special thanks is extended by Dena's family to her New Century Hospice caregivers, Christie, Anna, Becca, and Clydie.  Also, a special thanks to their dear friend, Linda who cam in from Ohio to help when her condition worsened.
