Constance Morine Reno, “Connie,” died peacefully at her home on Friday, July 12 at the age of 93. Connie was born in Bremond, Texas on December 8, 1925 to Annie Lee Caskey Chamberlain and Hugh H. Chamberlain.
Connie attended beauty school in Waco,Texas and went on to work at the San Jacinto Hotel beauty salon in Houston. She also worked as a switch board operator at Shell Oil in Houston where she met J. Vincent Reno, “Reno.” They married in 1962 and moved to the Johnson City area to pursue ranching until relocating to Marble Falls in 1969. Traveling the country in their motor home and opening and operating Reno’s Florist & Linen Closet kept them busy for many years before retiring in the mid 80’s. After Reno’s death in 1995, Connie returned to her love of flowers, working part time at Edgar Flower Shop into her 90’s. She attended the First United Methodist Church, volunteered at the Library Thrift Store for 10 years, and enjoyed working in her yard until just recently.
A funeral service is planned for 4:00 p.m., Sunday, July 14, 2019 at First United Methodist Church or Marble Falls, 1101 Bluebonnet Dr., Marble Falls, TX 78654. Interment will follow at Marble Falls Cemetery, Marble Falls, Texas.
