Betty Lou Swan went to be with her Lord on November 30, 2019, in Marble Falls, Texas. She was 94.
Betty was born on August 16, 1925 in Osage, Oklahoma to her parents, Oscar Echols and Anna Echols (nee Yeager). She graduated from High School in Osage. Betty then moved to Kansas City to work as an airplane riveter during WWII. She married Edgar Swan in 1945 and was his wife for 55 years, until his death in 2000. She later married Bill Ottaberry in 2004 until his death 3 years later.
Betty was a strong Christian believer, and has left a large legacy of believers in her wake. She was a dedicated mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother to her large family. Her favorite hobbies were writing poetry and reading. Betty was very concerned about the political and spiritual atmosphere of America and many of her poems centered around those themes.
She is survived by her sons Dale Swan and Jay Swan, her daughters Janie Lee, Anna Hoyer, and Teresa Wagner, ten grandchildren, and twenty great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by many siblings, her husband Edgar Swan, and husband Bill Ottaberry.
Betty will be buried in a graveside ceremony on Monday, December 9, 2019 at 10:00 AM at Monahans Memorial Cemetery. All are welcome to attend. In lieu of flowers, please donate to the mission fund of the church of your choice.
